Incredibly, it’s been a decade since Norah Jones first charmed the public with Come Away With Me. The intervening years have seen her collaborate with everyone from Outkast to the Foo Fighters to Tony Bennett, but her guest appearance on last year’s spaghetti western tribute album, Rome, has proved the most significant. Impressed with the chemistry, Jones invited Danger Mouse to repay the favour and drive the desk for her fifth studio album. The sonically surprising Little Broken Hearts showcases the results, and sees Jones move away from her jazz roots to lend her smoky vocals to 70s country, atmospheric blues and beatific indie-pop.
