7digital What we said: If you had to name two things you’d expect from a Chemical Brothers full-length, they’d be big beats and big name guest vocalists. Album number eight definitely delivers on that score, finding the duo variously setting the voices of Beck, Q-Tip, St. Vincent and Cate Le Bon amongst their electronic maelstrom. For our money, it’s the instrumental cuts that really shine on Born In The Echoes, most notably the coruscating electro-house of ‘Reflexion’, the minimal techno of ‘Just Bang’ and the acid-tinged ‘EML Ritual’. Also worth commendation is the psychedelic, ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’-inspired ‘I’ll See You There’, its reverse loops and cymbal heavy-percussion making it feel like the unofficial sequel to 1999-smash ‘Let Forever Be’.
