7digital What we said: Are The Charlatans the most consistent band in indie? Certainly, it’s difficult to a think of another band still producing quality new material after almost three full decades together. There’s no discernible dip in quality on this 13th album, either, which arrives suitably stuffed with the sort of beatific melodies and laid-back grooves we’ve come to expect from Tim Burgess and pals. Looking at the stellar supporting cast they’ve secured, The Charlatans might well be amongst the most well-respected bands about too. Featuring Modfather Paul Weller and Manchester musical royalty Johnny Marr, cult US musicians Anton Newcombe and Kurt Wagner, and author Ian Rankin and comedian Sharon Horgan, Different Days is a record rammed with diverse collaborations.
